PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI – APRIL 4, 2024 – Nosco, Inc., a full-service packaging solutions provider, commenced production today on a new nine-color Komori Lithrone GX40RP advance (GLX940RP advance) press. The GLX940RP advance is the recipient of the industry-renowned InterTech™ Technology Award for its one-of-a-kind flexibility and productivity. As a subsidiary of Holden Industries, Inc., Nosco has actively invested in systems and equipment to fulfill bold growth plans as a 100% employee-owned company. The Komori press was installed to scale up folding carton production at Nosco’s Wisconsin-based Packaging Innovation Center by 125 million units. In support of that goal, the GLX940RP advance is uniquely configured to meet the specific needs of the company’s rapidly expanding pharmaceutical packaging business, which serves more than 450 companies in health and wellness across the United States.

“We invested in the Komori GLX940RP advance because we are seeing significant pharmaceutical growth and the number of drug products coming to the market,” said Craig Curran, Nosco President. “We needed the extra capacity to support this growth, and chose a Komori press due to our experience with previous Komori machines. The productivity of our Komori presses has been outstanding. Plus, the print quality and color consistency are superb.”

Curran continued, stating that the company is particularly excited about the Komori’s advanced automation features and non-stop production capabilities. “These features are an exciting addition to the integrated logistics system with feeder, delivery and press controls,” said Curran.

The GLX940RP press is equipped with capabilities for infeed and outfeed automation for non-stop production. All of this, combined with the unique inline backside printing capability, gives Nosco the latest technology for folding carton production automation.
