Sneha Patel, a consultant with expertise in beauty and wellness packaging, presented the session “Innovations in Smart Packaging” at MasterMinds 2025. Drawing from her background in product development and consumer behavior, Patel explored how packaging is evolving in response to shifting expectations around sustainability, personalization and holistic health.
Patel began by highlighting the growing influence of mental health awareness and self-care on consumer purchasing behavior. These factors are no longer peripheral but are now central to how consumers evaluate products. As a result, packaging is being reimagined as an extension of the product experience, not just a functional necessity.
Throughout the presentation, she discussed how brands are responding to this shift by adopting sustainable materials, simplifying packaging formats and integrating digital features. Examples included the use of monomaterials, refillable systems and enabled smart packaging. Patel also addressed the rise of biohacking and personalized nutrition, which are influencing packaging strategies in the wellness sector.
Finally, Patel emphasized the critical role that packaging plays in building consumer trust. Whether through sustainable sourcing, minimalist design or interactive features, packaging must reflect brand values and meet the evolving expectations of a more informed and health-conscious audience.
