CONTROLLER

Job Summary:
The Controller should be a highly motivated professional with the desire and capability to manage and provide leadership to the Finance Department on a daily basis. This individual should possess a strong general accounting background, strong analytical skills and spreadsheet experience, cost accounting knowledge and experience in the preparation of financial statements, reporting, and financial analysis. Additionally, a key focus will be to support, provide analysis, and participate in the elimination of non-value added activities.
Job Duties / Responsibilities (The “What”):
- Manages and coordinates the process of closing the monthly general ledger, including the preparation of the financial statements, consolidated reporting to our parent company, Controller’s Report, Cash Flow forecasts and monthly financial statement forecasting to our parent company.
- Reviews and interprets the results of Nosco’s financial performance on a monthly basis utilizing value stream profitability reports, customer profitability reports, job profitability reports, the under / over analysis, comparative expense account analysis and functional tools to accurately report the monthly financial results to the CFO and president.
- Manages and provides leadership for the daily activities of the Financial Services department. Including setting direction for the department, developing your staff, holding departmental meetings and completing the Exemplary Performance reviews as required.
- Maintains the internal controls of the company and updates the controls as systems or processes are modified.
- Coordinates the detailed analysis and review of the complete inventory, significant balance sheet account analysis, including accruals, and signs-off of specific material general ledger journal entries as part of the monthly close process. Reviews the departmental operating budgets for significant variances and discusses variances with the value stream managers. Reviews and analyzes the inventory cost center rates semi-annually.
- Directs and coordinates the annual physical inventory process, annual financial tax reporting to our parent company, annual bonus and profit sharing calculation, fixed asset reporting, and monthly sales and use tax analysis and reporting.
- Leads the monthly process to calculate and report on our cost savings projects. Diligently supports our cultural behaviors. Specifically, supports operations in financial analysis for lean and cost improvement projects. Directs opportunities within the Financial Services department to drive out non-value-added-activities.
- Leads and prepares the Annual Operating Plan to meet the time line as established. Coordinates the completion of the AOP package to our parent company.
- Prepares the Discounted Cash Flow Valuations utilizing the established DCF model as requested.
- Prepares the financial portion and justification of Requests for Capital Expenditures. Completes a follow-up financial analysis within six months of the asset installation to determine if the return on investment justification is on schedule.
- Performs a backup role for functions such as payroll processing, Access reporting, customer profitability reporting, commission reporting, dashboard reporting and requests for specific financial analysis related to customer or job profitability and operational performance.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate must possess a C.P.A. and B.S. in accounting and have a minimum of five to eight years experience in public accounting and/or private industry, preferably with three years of experience in cost accounting, and a demonstrated record of driving continuous improvement projects. Possesses integrity that is above reproach with business and personal matters. Strong computer/systems skills are required along with financial analysis and problem solving skills. The ability to lead and manage a team to implement new projects is essential.

Press Manager - Carton Value Stream

Job Summary:
Manages printing operations in the Carton Value Stream, including people, production, product quality, maintenance, safety, and delivery in a manner consistent with Holden & Nosco Core Values. Develops a long- term perspective regarding strategic direction, capital planning, and development of skilled associates. Provides team leadership for lean initiatives, including process improvement and cost reduction projects.
Job Duties / Responsibilities (the “What"):
1.) Provides leadership to plan, direct and coordinate production activities, meeting objectives for output, quality, and delivery and cost in a safe manner.
2.) Leads continuous improvement program through utilization of Lean concepts. Includes 7S, waste identification and elimination, value stream mapping, Kaizen, error proofing, one piece flow, set-up time reduction, Kanbans, balanced work flow, etc.
3.) Analyzes metrics and compiles data to identify improvement opportunities. Monitors key indicators for performance fluctuation.
4.) Works closely with Managers, Leads, and Production Associates to facilitate above.
5.) Plans, coordinates, facilitates and leads continuous improvement, Quality, Planning and Maintenance to ensure key objectives are met.
6.) Follows Nosco Quality Policy to ensure customer satisfaction.
7.) Coordinates and facilitates training plans to ensure all associates are properly trained in SOPs, AOPs, and WIs. Oversees skill development of associates, including apprentice programs and Lead development consistent with succession plan objectives.
8.) Coaches associates for improved performance and conducts performance reviews.
9.) Monitors throughput to ensure 100% on-time delivery to promise dates.
10.) Evaluates and offers recommendations for capital expenditures.
11.) Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in business, technology, printing, engineering, or related field of study is preferred.
- 5-15 years of experience in printing operations, preferably in cartons, including significant leadership responsibilities.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement processes including Lean or Six Sigma in manufacturing with demonstrated results.
- Strong communication ability, including verbal, written, computer and presentation skills.
- Extensive track record of leadership and team management, with effective interpersonal skills and the ability drive accountability in the areas of responsibility. Models a professional, fair, respectful, proactive approach.
- Effective Project management skills.
- Understanding of spectral data, dot gain, trap and Delta E with ability to compile this data and work towards and agreed upon standard like G7.
- Strong understanding of file construction and print methods; conventional spot color, 4/C process and Indichrome.
- Ability to evaluate/assess color on press sheets, and provide feedback to Prepress and/or customers.
- Ability to lead and train press staff on use of press tools as well as spectrophotometers.

Department: Carton Gluing
Job Summary:
A gluer operator is a skilled trade requiring up to 4 years of apprenticeship training on various assets throughout the program before successful completion of the journeymen program. This position requires a self-starter with a desire to efficiently produce a quality folding carton in a team setting. Job duties include setup and operation of various folder/ gluers including ancillary devices.
Job Duties / Responsibilities (the "What"):
- Set up and operates asset, including detection and scanning, to set production requirements per SOPs, related work instructions and Control Riders.
- Actively monitors production efficiency completing all documentation and reporting in Primac accurately.
- Trouble shoot machine problems as it pertains to equipment and set up.
- Assists in minimizing the scope of remakes (identifying problems in a timely fashion through attributing )
- Achieve expectations set by the lead or supervisor through the use of white boards and sustain production expectations.
- Provides consistent up to date information to the production lead and/or management during each process control check.
- Relieves crew for breaks and to assist in training.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Accurate reporting in Primac and on other documentation.
- An eye for detail will be critical for detecting quality imperfections during production.
